Welcome to Home of Batavia Youth Baseball (BYB)

Welcome to the home of Batavia Youth Baseball

Now in our 59th year, BYB is an all-volunteer organization offering a quality baseball program for the children of Batavia and Mooseheart.  Our programs serve over 1,200 players age 6 to 17 with over 90 teams.  With no financial support from any local government,  BYB raises funds through local sponsors, donations, and player fund raising. BYB is in constant need of adult volunteers to coach, prep fields, sell concessions, umpire games, etc.  We encourage and need your assistance.  BYB holds monthly board meetings (open to the public) on the second Tuesday of each month at the Batavia Civic Center, 327 W. Wilson, 7:30 PM during the off-season, 8:30 PM during the season May through July.

2016 Travel Team Tryouts

Registration is now open for 2016 Travel Team tryouts, which will be held on July 7 and 8 at the Batavia High School Fieldhouse. Use the link below to register for your age group.

9u: Tuesday, July 7, 5:30-7pm

10u: Tuesday, July 7, 7-8:30pm

11u: Wednesday, July 8, 5:30-7pm

12u: Tuesday, July 7, 8:30-10pm

13u: Wednesday, July 8, 7-8:30pm

14u: Wednesday, July 8, 8:30-10pm

A few important things to note:

  • A question was added to this year’s registration form about team preferences. In past years, BYB requested this info to better understand parent/player preferences and gather directional input. Responses do not affect how players are evaluated during the tryout process itself, and will not be considered until all evaluations are complete. Responses may be considered during the team formation process, but parent/player preferences are not a guarantee of placement on a specific team. Further, a player would not be excluded from consideration for a Gold team if that player is not selected for a Red team (and that's their preference). This is merely an opportunity for parents to have input on what (if any) preference they feel is best suited for their player and family. If there is no preference, simply select “Both.”
  • If you would like to change your response to the red/gold/both question, simply log into your account as if you were registering for the first time and edit your responses.
  • The exact number of teams will be determined by the availability of players judged capable of playing travel ball and the availability of approved head coaches.
  • More information on the team selection process is available on the BYB website under the Documents section.
  • Please also be sure to review the BYB Benefits summary in the documents section of the website. https://s3.amazonaws.com/files.leagueathletics.com/Text/Documents/9368/67595.pdf
  • An information and Q&A session for parents will be held outside the fieldhouse for each age group while the players are in the fieldhouse trying out. Parents are highly encouraged to attend.
  • We will be working to form and announce teams as soon as possible, and the anticipated ETA is around July 26.
  • Please enter the high school for tryouts from the south Athletics Entrance.
  • During tryouts, participants should not wear any travel or team-specific uniforms or apparel.
